Starting Time: 7h00 for 7h30     
 

Ride Description: Brilliant training for the 94.7 or Sabie X. Although all along non-technical dirt roads, the hard, often rocky surface and undulating terrain one passes through (20km) before arriving at the big climb (5km) up Breedsnek are demanding. You ride in the shadow of the main ridge of the Magaliesburg mountains on Breedsnek Marikana road passing game farms. Look out for rhino and giraffe. The climb is steep and tough requiring "granny gears" but you shouldn't have to push to the top. The view from the top is "Forever". Go down the other side (6km descent) but watch out for rough patches on the road - a fun down hill if you are a speed junkie. There is a cafe that sells basic cool drinks at the Utopia turnoff. This is the turning point to go all the way back over Breedsnek again and home. Obviously the downhills are now uphills. Watch out for traffic on the road Please no green level or beginner riders!!!!  

Directions: From Johannesburg - Take M47 past Hillfox and Ruimsig Athletic Stadium. Cross 4 way stop at N14 Krugersdorp Freeway. Continue to T Junction, turn right - continue straight on Hekpoort Rd R563 (do not take the Tarlton slip way to Magalisburg Town) At Hekpoort T junction, turn left, after approx 2km, Nooitgedacht dirt road to your right, take it. The "Bird Store" is a cafe about 50mts from the turn off, park here. Please support the store as they kindly allow riders to leave their cars here From Pretoria, take the R560 to Hekpoort, then Nooitgedacht dirt road
