This is an exciting ride around the Leeukop area in the Sunninghill area. It is graded as tough as it contains a fair amount of climbing on jeep tracks but no excessive technical elements.
The first part of the adventure starts within 3km of the start with a water crossing over a 10m dam wall. Being an urban ride, it is a pleasant surprise that so much trail that can be ridden, being particularly careful when having to cross busy roads to meet up with the trail on the other side to make sure everyone crosses safely.
The ride is at a public venue and visitors are very welcome to join the ride. Because it is at a public venue, visitors must pay the reasonable club ride fee of R50 while club members are covered by their membership fees. Make sure to be there from 06:30 for 07:00.
Visitors are encouraged to let us know ahead of time if you will join else arrive at the venue and ask one of the club members to introduce you to the ride coordinator who will assist with the legalities, club ride payment and help you join the right group.
We typically cater for all skills, fitness, and experience. Each group is led by a group leader and typically a sweep as well. Typical ride groups, depending on the number of riders at the ride, are: Green (shortest distance, slowest pace and technically easiest), and then Yellow, Red and Blue in order (typically longest distance, fastest pace and technically hardest).
Bring enough money for the ride fee and extra money if you wish to join the post ride eats and drinks (where it is available) afterwards which we encourage to socialise and swap ride stories.
