Ride Description: Thaba relaunched in July with a large amount of trail modification. Wendel and others have promised that the old Thaba is no more and that the tracks are much more appealing to all levels of rider.
JMBC’s Steve from the deep South says it is vastly improved e.g. the tower climb at the start which used to go straight up has been replaced by a whole lot of easier switch backs. The Blue loops are still there for the technical nuts.
The main Green loop is much longer including some good looking video footage of a section called Samuel on Thaba’s Facebook page.

Note: We have to pay Thaba Trails R30.00 per rider. JMBC members will be subsidized by JMBC and non-members must pay R60.00 per visitor, comprising R30.00 for Thaba Trails as well as the R30.00 JMBC visitor fee.
There is a little restaurant next to the start so bring extra money for breakfast afterwards.

Directions: Take the M1 south, past city centre towards Bloemfontein. Take Exit 7 to Booysens road, keep LEFT, back towards town. After 900m turn RIGHT into Klipriver Drive, continue for 8.5 km.
You will cross over the N12 highway, and then down the hill past the Virgin Active, then past another 2 traffic lights and turn RIGHT into the Southern Brickyard.
It is just after Panorama shopping centre which is on the left. Park in the cycling car park at the back.
