Ride Description: This still has to be the best single track in Gauteng along the Magalies River which forms the end of your club ride. Yellow, red and blue will first climb the Witwatersberg up some serious rocky switchbacks, then ride down into a valley and up some more switch backs. You then descend to a second river trail (awesome). Then come Piet’s Place climb (for red and blue) and finally the Greek Church for blue and the river trail for the rest and return to Van Gaalen’s. Red and blue will work hard for their money – don’t lose concentration!
For top-end Green riders it is mostly about riding the Van Gaalen’s river trail – absolutely awesome riding. They will ride a big loop around the valley floor and almost no serious hills. For green it is fairly technical but a must do.

Van Gaalen’s want R50.00 per rider to ride there as Eric has put a lot of effort in. It is well worth it. The club will subsidise JMBC members.

Do not miss this one – you will be sorry if you do!!! Please note this ride is not for beginners or green level riders. Bring money for breakfast/lunch afterwards.

Directions: Take the R512 (Malibongwe or Hans Strydom) out past Lanseria Airport, Maggies Farm (Chicken Pie), Lesedi and Nikita until you reach the T-junction at Broederstroom (17.5km from Lanseria. Turn left, and drive 6.4km and pass the Pecanwood Wimpy on your right hand side. The road now turns West and you now drive 9km until a T-junction. Turn left and immediately right into Van Gaalen’s Cheese Farm. Van Gaalen’s is 50kms from Fourways so give yourself time to get there.
